To be "saved" is to be set free from bondage to sin, releasing us to actually be made more and more like God everyday. This is God's perfect plan for each of us. To be "saved" also includes being freed from the consequences of your sins, which is separation from God and all of His goodness. This may not sound too bad, but everything good comes from God, the Creator of all things. Separation from Him is to be left with only despair, hopelessness and pain. Our sins separate us from God, because He is perfectly holy (righteous, good). Our sins also release the consequences of sin, which is death in every form, into our lives and the lives of others around us. The current state of our nation and world is a result of our sins.
Our God is perfectly loving, and in His mercy and grace to us, He sent His Son to pay the price for ALL of our sins--the sins of every person in the world who has ever lived. However, each one of us has a choice to accept this sacrifice and receive salvation in Messiah Yeshua. Messiah means "Anointed One". Yeshua is a Jewish name that means "Yah Saves". Yah is a shortened form of the name of God, which is YHVH in Hebrew. This is the language of the Old Covenant of the Bible, the place where we read God's name. "Yah Saves" is synonymous with "Salvation". Hence, the word in Hebrew for salvation is "Yeshua".
Yeshua is fully God and was with the Father in the beginning, involved in our creation (see John 1:1-18 and Genesis 1:1-3). Then He came to earth, was born of a virgin, lived life as we do, tempted in every way but without sin, and gave His sinless life as a sacrifice for each one of us. By His sacrifice, all of us receive salvation, deliverance from destructive lifestyles and demonic oppression, and healing for our bodies and souls. Yeshua is called many other names in many cultures, to include Jesus, Isa, Jesús and Iēsous. However, we choose to reclaim His narrative and call Him by the Name originally given to Him. It has more depth and meaning. It also connects us more to His life on earth and His commandments given to the Jews for the world. These commandments make up the whole Bible.
To accept salvation in Messiah Yeshua is a personal choice each of us may make, but God will not force it upon us. However, if we choose to make it, we will be reconciled in our relationship with God, filled with His Holy Spirit, and transformed more and more each day to be holy, loving and creative like our Creator. This will absolutely transform every aspect of our lives and restore the world around us. If you desire to receive salvation in Messiah Yeshua today, simply pray the Prayer of Salvation aloud while believing every word of it in your heart.
Having received salvation in Messiah Yeshua, you are then compelled to belief what He taught. In His teachings, He revealed what we should believe and how we should express our faith.
John 10:30 "I and the Father are one.”
John 15:26 "When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me."
There is only one God, and He is one (united, complete, whole). The God of Israel, YHVH, is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He manifests in relationship with humanity in three persons: the Father, the Son (Yeshua) and the Holy Spirit. All three persons of God are united (one).
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 14:6 Yeshua answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Messiah Yeshua is the virgin-born Son of God who died for the sins of all mankind and rose from the dead so that we might be redeemed. We may only be saved through the acceptance of Yeshua as the Anointed One (Messiah) sent from God as our Redeemer. He will return to reign on earth with those who have believed in Him and obeyed His commandments.
Matthew 5:17-18 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
The Holy Bible, in its entirety—to include the Hebrew Holy Scriptures (aka Old Testament) and the New Covenant (aka New Testament)—is the infallible Word of God. It authenticates and interprets itself, and can only be fully understood when read under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It helps to guide us into relationship with God, gives guidance in all areas of human life, and is necessary to understand God’s will in advancing His Kingdom.
John 4:24 “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."
God is everywhere, and He wants us to worship Him at all times and in every area of life through the Holy Spirit, who lives in us. Only through the Holy Spirit may we even fathom the truth about ourselves, and the world, and in so doing, present ourselves to God authentically and completely.
John 17:20-21 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
Messiah Yeshua was born into the nation of Israel with a mission to reconcile all people to God. Through Israel, the world received Yeshua and the Word of God. It was and is the prayer of Yeshua that all of God’s people, both Jews and Gentiles, would be one in Him as He is one with the Father.
